French Leave Eleuthera, Bahamas
Nestled between magnificent coral reefs protecting its shore, surrounded by crystal clear turquoise waters and swaying coconut palm trees, is the one of most beautiful pink sand beaches and picturesque harbors in the world. All located on one of the most beautiful islands in all of the Bahamas.
The Island is Eleuthera.
The resort is French Leave.

Perfectly elevated to capture the crisp tropical breezes, the integrity of the tropical architecture epitomizes why French Leave is the exception, a one of a kind.
French Leave Eleuthera is so well regarded for what is not. There are no casinos, no cruise ships, no constant turnstile of flights carrying thousands of tourists. Our location boasts beautiful un-crowded pink sand beaches, azure blue waters, friendly people, and great local dining and shopping experiences. Absent are the chain restaurants and tourist trap stores and the bright lights and crowds that follow. When night falls here, you can see more stars in an evening than one might see in a lifetime. This is for stargazers the “Dark Sky Paradise” and with perfect year round weather, the season is anytime.
French Leave Eleuthera seeks to be a part of this incredible environment, not change it.
Our resort is designed for very low density, the least possible environmental impact, traditional Bahamian architecture, and traditional Bahamian values. French Leave Eleuthera remains today one of the Bahamas & Caribbean’s best kept secrets and is that special place, for all the right reasons.
If you want to experience the extraordinary, it may take a little more time and effort to get here. Once you get here, you will never question why you came.

The island of Eleuthera (meaning "freedom" in Greek) was home to adventurers long ago who sought religious self-determination when they fled Bermuda in 1648, and since established what is thought to be the first true Democracy in the Western Hemisphere. Over the years the island has become a landmark holiday spot as well as preferred retreat of the rich and famous.
East-southeast of historic Governor’s Harbour, along well-known Banks Road, hugging some of the most sensational Atlantic beachfront on Eleuthera Island, you will find Pineapple Fields Resort and Tippy’s Beachfront Bar and Restaurant.

The Duck Inn is part of the original settlement of Governor's Harbour. Some of the buildings are almost 200 years old. Walls are built of solid limestone block carved from the hillside and cisturns. Roofs and interiors are prime heartwood timber hardened to steel-like strength over the ages. All cottages have been refurbished to pristine condition, decorated in tropical themes, furnished with authentic antiques and dressed in fresh flowers from the gardens.
Cottages
We have three luxury cottages nestled within orchid gardens and fruit trees. These rental cottages include two 1-bedroom cottages - "Cupid's Cottage" and "HunnyPot". And a 4-bedroom, 2-story house - "Flora's". All are beautifully maintained and include all the amenities needed to feel at home.
Each colonial cottage is beautifully decorated with polished wooden floors and antique furnishings. All three cottages have fully equipped kitchens, dining areas, verandas and living areas. Coffee makers, televisions and radios with CD players are included for your added convenience. All cottages are air-conditioned, have ceiling fans and maid service.
A stone barbeque grill and a large outdoor dining area with a tropical waterfall is available for guests' use.
A fourth cottage at The Duck Inn is "Cornerwall" - John and Katy's home. "Cornerwall" is a historic colonial Bahamian stone cottage with the verandah overlooking Governor's Harbour bay. The recent photograph on the right was taken by a guest from inside the private garden of "Cupid's Cottage".
